Maintaining your lashes at home is necessary in order to have the best results and prevent infections.
Good quality extensions require precision, great detail, time, and proper application. In cases of unhealthy application, the lashes may become adhered together and may result in permanent damage. When extensions are applied correctly, there in no damage
Extensions should not cause any pain or discomfort. If your lashes are hurting and itching as they grow, it is usually due to the lashes being adhered together. The lashes should be at the base of your lash line but NOT touching your skin. There should be no clumps of glue and you should be able to brush through them mid lash to tip with no issues.
Each person has an individual eyelash shedding cycle that typically takes 2-3 weeks. When the natural lash sheds, it takes the extension with it and a new natural lash grows in it's place.
When the extension gets too long, it will need to be replaced to avoid breakage.
The adhesive begins to break down after time, and will eventually cause the extension to fall off.
Makeup is not recommended for the extensions, especially mascara and waterproof makeup. If you decide to wear makeup, use oil-free makeup remover and proceed to cleanse the lashes.
Yes. However, excess water, salt water, and chlorine water will break down the adhesive faster than normal. If you decide to swim, cleanse the lashes as soon as you're done.
You can wear contacts while having lash extensions, but contacts are not recommended during application due to potential chemical reactions.
Unless your doctor says otherwise, it is ok to get extensions while pregnant.
Taking a break is not necessary but I personally recommend a 2-4 week break once a year to maintain the health of the natural lashes.
Reactions are not common, but they do happen. If you are concerned about having a reaction, a patch test is recommended to rule out any sensitivity. In some cases, you can build a tolerance to the adhesive but this takes time and patience.
